For the Bonnaroo WET FAQ - please visit https://workexchangeteam.com/bonnaroo_faq.php

What do I need to do to become a WET member?

You must first fill out an application.  Links to the right ---------->

There is a nonrefundable application fee, ranging from $10-$30, depending on the event, that you must put down in the application.  Once your application is received, processed and approved, you must put down a deposit of the “day of show” ticket price plus camping and a $25.00 cancellation fee.  This deposit is entirely refundable, should you complete your obligation in good faith.

When will I know if I have been accepted?

All applicants will be notified within three weeks of applying whether they have been accepted or not.

How and When do I put down my deposit?

Once you are accepted, you will receive an acceptance email, prompting you to put down your deposit via our secure online merchant account.  You must put down a deposit by the deposit due date in order to secure your spot, and may lose your spot to our waiting list if you enter the numbers incorrectly or enter a card that does not have sufficient funds at the time of our transaction.  WE DO NOT RUN YOUR CARD UNTIL 25 DAYS PRIOR TO THE FESTIVAL (Date is listed on the deposit page, before submitting).  Once the deposit is processed, we will hold onto the funds and refund them into your account after you complete your WET obligations.

How and When do I get my deposit back?

You must complete all of your assigned shifts in order to receive your deposit back.  If you are reprimanded for any reason, be it tardiness to your shift, improper behavior of any kind, influence of drugs or alcohol, failure to sign in or out of your shift, your deposit may be forfeited.  If you complete all of your assigned shifts without reprimand, you will receive your WET deposit within 5 days of the festival.

How old do I need to be in order to be a WET member?

WET members must be at least 18 years or older by the start date of the festival.

Can I sign up as a WET member when I get to the event?

No.  All applicants must go through our online application process.

What do WET members receive?

WET members will receive admission to the festival, a WET t-shirt, and an amazing experience.  Camping is provided only at full camping events.  City events to not provide any housing.  We will provide water while you are working.  Keep in mind that camping may not be included at all camping events.

What kinds of duties do WET members perform?

WET members will perform a variety of tasks to assist in the festival’s success.  Departments include: Clean Up, Parking, Merchandise, VIP, Promotions, Catering, and pretty much anything that might pop up at a festival!  A WET member may be asked to switch departments as last minute changes surface.  Any task in which a WET member is not physically capable of performing should be noted on their application so that we can be sure to schedule appropriately.  All tasks will be supervised by each department, who will report back to WET staff.

How much time must a WET member commit?

All WET members are required to work all shifts they are scheduled for, between 15 and 18 hours, for admission to the festival.  If you are selected for Pre-festival work you will be required to work full day shifts each pre-festival day.

WET Guidelines:

1. WETs must work in closed-toed shoes - you will not be able to work and will therefore forfeit your deposit if you do not arrive to your shift wearing closed-toed shoes.

2. WETs should arrive for their shift 15 mins prior to the shift start time so that they may be processed.

3. WETs must advise a WET Staff member once they have completed their work obligation in its entirety.  This will alleviate any issues following the festival.

4. WETs must wear their WET Festival T-shit while working, and take it off when not working.

5. Absolutely no drugs or alcohol may be consumed during a WET shift.  Deposits will be absolutely forfeited.

What happens if I am believed to be under the influence during my shift?

If a WET coordinator feels that a WET member is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, the WET member will be relieved of duties and their WET deposit will be forfeited, along with any future opportunity with WET. Absolutely no exceptions will be made.

Can I request not to miss a band?

As you fill out your application, you will be able to select 3 bands that you do not want to miss the most.  We will do our best to schedule you around these time slots, but the integrity of the festival comes first, of course.  Please note that many night shifts are located inside the music festival concert area.

Can I get a refund for a ticket I purchased before I was accepted as a WET member?

Unfortunately purchased tickets cannot be refunded.  All WET members must make a deposit in order to volunteer.

Can I work Pre/Post Festival Shifts?

Potential WET members should mark on their applications to signify whether or not they will be available to work before or after the festival starts. You will be notified if we have a pre festival position available.  Please note that this does not mean that you will complete all of your shifts before the festival starts.  You may be required to also work during the festival.

How is the schedule created?

Schedules are determined by festival labor needs, past experience, friend requests, band requests and any other appropriate factors.  You must expect to work at lease one night shift during the festival.  Unless you have been requested by a specific department, please do not email us requesting certain shifts or departments.

What forms of payment are accepted?

ONLY credit cards/check cards will be accepted.  If you don't have a credit card, we suggest you ask either your parents or a friend to put the deposit down for you.

What happens if I go through the entire application process and then fail to show to the event, or fail to complete a shift?

You will forfeit your WET deposit.

I am coming with regular festival attendees (Non-WET).  How does that work?

Regular festival attendees may NOT enter the festival grounds prior to the official opening of the gates to patrons, even if accompanied by a working WET member.  If you are scheduled for a pre festival shift, please be sure to make travel arrangements with other WET members, as your Non-WET friends will not be allowed to enter the festival grounds until gates open to the public.

Can I cancel my WET membership?

You can cancel anytime.

Cancelation Policy: Varies per event.

All Good:

What happens if the festival is canceled?

In the unlikely event that the festival is canceled, your application fee will not be refunded.  This fee goes directly towards paying staff that processes each application.  Your deposit will be entirely refunded.
